After all the hard work

After he was done for the day, Dale found a quiet spot to relax, but he wasn't alone for long.

Out with the old

Once upon a time (16 years ago) I thought it was a good idea to put pea gravel in our play area. Well now that our toddlers have turned to teenagers we have decided to get rid of the pea gravel. What a mess, what a big job. I am not the most popular person at my house right now, the pea gravel was my idea and Dale hauled it in now I don't want it any more and Dale, Jeff , Shane and Mitch are hauling it out for me. So after 2 Saturdays of hard work the gravel is gone, now we (meaning the boys) need trench, put in sprinklers, haul in new dirt to replace the dirt we hauled out, then we will be ready to sod the "play area". We are keeping a "play area" because we still seem to attract kids. It will be so nice the tree that we so badly needed to shade our play area when the kids spent hours a day out there, is so messy, it is also full of grub worms, so it is going in a few years. The plan is to sod the area, trim back the old tree, plant a new tree and let it get established so we can get rid of the old sick tree. I was going to wait until we were done to post pictures, but I decided to post them as we went.
